Aloe Vera and a Case of the Mondays

I'm probably crazy, but I just love Mondays

A few of the reasons why I love Mondays:
  • It's the beginning of the week and there's so much excitement about what's to come during the week.  The week never quite lives up to my expectations but I'm always excited about the week on Monday.
  • I've done nothing but sit around all weekend and I'm ready to DO something which means Mondays are usually pretty productive days
  • I have no real job - I get to play with kids all day, take naps when they take naps and then teach ballet so Monday doesn't mean returning to a stressful or boring job
  • Because everyone else dislikes Monday and I like to be different
So far today I did stadiums:

I always look so happy when I pose for stadiums versus other times I pose.  Is it that I'm still mostly asleep and don't realize the pain I'm about to experience?  Or possibly my eyes just don't open that much in the morning and it gives the false impression that I'm extremely excited

I'm going to go with the still half asleep theory since the other pose that pops up a lot for stadiums is the muscles pose... it's so totally unfitting considering I don't use my arms at all.

After stadiums I stopped in at the store on the way home to pick up some almond milk.  I'm pretty sure MOST of the times I stop at the grocery store is after stadiums or the gym and I'm soaked in sweat.  It's a good thing I don't see anyone I know there.  One day I'm sure I will regret this though...

I like going to the grocery stores in the morning.  There's all these cute older people working and they always brighten my day.

I ended up picking up some Orange Carrot juice to add to my smoothies and right next to the Orange Carrot juice I saw some Aloe Vera juice.  I carried one of the jars under my arm and the other two one in each hand.  Then I told the bagger to skip the bag.  He was a sweet older gentlemen who I guess didn't speak English very well... or maybe couldn't hear very well?  Or maybe he just thought I was crazy.  Anyways, the check out lady had to explain to him that I didn't want a bag.  Then he asked me how I was going to carry it all out to the car - I'm pretty sure I told him "magic" - thankfully they laughed because now that I type that out it seems really rude.

This seems to happen to me frequently:  I've never heard about something and then I learn about it and suddenly I'm hearing about it everywhere.  Aloe Vera is one of those things that I had never heard about until Friday and since Friday I've read about it several times.  Did you know you could ingest Aloe Vera?  I had no idea.

I first heard about Aloe Vera from www.thefitnessdish.com (sorry Laury if you read this and see that I didn't link directly to the Friday Five!)

Some benefits of Aloe Vera:
  • Helps to detoxify the body and cleanse the colon.
  • Detoxifies the blood stream.
  • Can benefit a person with intestinal or stomach problems.
  • Could aid in the healing of ulcers and help the digestive tract to work smoothly.
  •  Can improve circulation.
  • Helps dilate the capillaries and aid in cell growth
  •  It acts as an antibacterial, antiviral and anti fungal agent, preventing illness
I tried it plain and wasn't that impressed.  So I did what I always do with things I don't really like by themselves - added it to my smoothie!  As usual, my smoothie was still delicious so I'll continue to add it in.

After breakfast I walked with my mom for a few miles.  It feels so good to have that out of the way as we often do it right before bed and I'm usually just ready to go to bed and have to fight to make myself walk.

I washed, folded and put away all of my laundry.

And did P90X Legs and Back

If you ever wanted to learn how to spice up your annoying self portrait posing abilities... just take pictures while you do jumping jacks

Attractive, no?

I'm going to continue my awesome productive day by cleaning my room (!!!) and making my bed and cleaning my car!  ...maybe ;)

I should go to title making school

Happy Saturday!

I’ve had a very full week and it’s nice to have most of the day to relax. I originally planned to wake up early and go for an early morning run but when my alarm went off and it was pouring outside I turned over and went back to sleep. I had been expecting the rain and was going to run in the rain anyways but my half unconscious, groggy, just awakened self is not very good at coming up with reasons to do things I don’t exactly want to do. It’s only my fully awake self that is good at pushing myself to do hard things.

So I slept in until 7:30… and I feel lazy. What is wrong with me? I guess I got my morning mojo back if 7:30 feels late to me. I slept for about 10 hours last night which was heaven, but I certainly don’t feel refreshed. It’s like I got too much sleep and now I’m just groggy. Also, my stomach is feeling unsettled. That probably means I had too much chocolate hazelnut butter last night (true story) but it’s making all of the plans I had seem pretty impossible. Clean? Do P90X? Go to the gym? Yeah… how about lay in bed all day? Of course whenever I do that I just feel awful by the end of the day.

This evening I’m going to be babysitting for a family I’ve never babysat for before. I’m always nervous the first time around. Of course I want to make a good impression and I’m not the most outgoing person so I always struggle to find things to say to the parents. I’m watching 1 year old twins tonight; that is a first for me. I probably won’t be there long before it’s time for their bedtime but I’m sure everything is more complicated with twins. You can’t feed them both at once… well, okay, you probably can but I don’t know if I can and then you have to change one and then change the other and then put one down and then put the other one down. It just seems so complicated, although, I guess technically I do it all the time just with siblings of different ages.

If nothing else, it will be an experience. Hopefully a good one :)

Even though I didn’t feel like it I did P90X arms and shoulders. I kept it on pause the whole time and just skipped scenes to see the titles of the exercises and then did them without the DVD playing along. I like P90X but sometimes I just don’t feel like listening to Tony Horton’s voice. My music is better.

Then I forced myself to go to the gym.

I’m always (mostly) happy once I’m there. It’s so quiet on Saturdays… I guess cause all these other people have lives, but anyways, I like it. I can jump from machine to machine and there’s hardly anyone to bother. Note: By jump from machine to machine I do not literally jump from elliptical to treadmill, although I might have to add that to one of my workouts. Some days it’s just easier for me mentally to do a mile on the elliptical, 10 minutes on the treadmill, a mile on the elliptical, 30 minutes on the bike, mile on the elliptical – yes, that was my workout for today.

Some days I’m able to completely focus on my workout and really enjoy it. Today was not one of those days. I thought about chips for a good portion of the workout, no lie. So of course I had to stop at the store and buy some chips. I try to stay away from chips because I could eat a whole bag in one sitting. I sometimes have chips when I babysit but I rarely buy them. I think I’ve bought chips on all of 3 occasions. Well anyways, after the gym I stopped at Publix and bought… you guessed it, chips. I got other things that I needed too but I ended up with Stacy’s Multigrain Pita Chips because they’re sooo good and then I bought veggie sticks. I know there are really not any redeeming qualities about either of these choices but I could have bought worse. Here’s hoping I don’t inhale both bags in one day.

I have about an hour until I have to leave to go babysit so I’m going to go and try to make myself look presentable, time to make a good impression!

The Bug Run

I remember now why I don’t like running in the evening. In the summertime there are these gnat clouds… I have no idea what they’re doing but they all swarm around. Since they’re so small it’s hard to see the cloud of gnats until you’re already in it. When you’re sweaty and moving fast (or slowly?) they stick to you like you’re one of those sticky flea traps.
Rachel and I went for a run last night and by the time we got back we were pretty much covered in gnats. They were all over but face and neck were the worst spots. Ugh, so gross. Just writing about it makes me itchy.

I’m looking forward to today. I have no concrete plans until later this evening and I have the whole day free. I’m not great at actually doing the things I’d like to do on my days off but I’m really hoping I can be non-lazy today and use all of my free time to do something productive. My dirty room and car would really like some attention.

So far so good. Stadiums even though Rachel couldn’t come – lame but I’m proud of myself for going even without my workout buddy. Stretching and quick shower followed by my go to breakfast: oatmeal with chia seeds and ground flax seeds. Today I threw in some sliced almonds and dried currents too. I usually prefer the oatmeal with just the chia and flax but sometimes I get crazy and throw in other ingredients as well.

After breakfast I did P90X shoulders and arms and now I’m icing my shins and having a cup of coffee.

I promised everyone (including myself) that I would take it somewhat easy after my injury. I definitely don’t want to reinjure myself. That would suck. I’m being careful to stretch and warm up properly as well as stretch and cool down afterwards. I’m still getting shin splints though and I haven’t upped my mileage very much at all. I think shin splints are pretty normal for starting to exercise again though. I don’t know, do you back off as soon as you get shin splints or continue to stretch your calves and warm up your shins before exercising? I know shin splints can lead to stress fractures but I just feel like if I back off I’ll just get them again when I start exercising again.

After I get a few more chores done around the house I’m going to head to target for a shopping spree. I saw they had some really cute swimsuits for a pretty good deal. Not that Target bathing suits ever look good on me or that I need any more swimsuits… but I’m going anyways.

The computer I’m using currently doesn’t have any place to easily upload photos so I’ve been slacking on the self portraits but I’ll figure out a way to make those happen, cause I know that’s the real reason you’re all here ;)

…oh wait, it’s just me that likes taking pictures of myself

In the meantime: a couple random pictures from vacation

"Look Mom, no hands!"
Yes, I did legit carry the chair on my head all the way from our beach house to the shore

Me and my hot mama after my cousins wedding. Isn't she gorgeous? :)

Any fun plans for today?

Want to know how to make the baggers think you're crazy?

Tell them to put the groceries back into the cart without bagging them... what?  I forgot my reusable bags =/

A friend of mine has really got me going on sustainability and taking care of our earth.  I'm working hard to do my part and when I have the choice I try to steer away from one-use items.  Even items that can be recycled... it takes a lot of energy to recycle.  I don't mean it takes a lot of energy to put items in the recycling bin - that one is pretty easy.  I mean to actually recycle the item - crush it, melt it, whatever else they do (I am definitely not a recycling expert).

This means reusable bags (I know that's not weird, everyone does that now), bringing some kind of storage container when I go to restaurants so I don't have to get a take out box, not buying bottles of water... there are a million other things I could and should do but this is what I'm focusing on so far.

In other news...

Last week I decided to look up shin splints.  I've been dealing with shin splints for the past several weeks.  Kind of strange since I didn't have any while training for the marathon...

I didn't think they were that big of a deal.  They're a really common injury and I thought you just ran through them, iced them and foam rolled.  Well... apparently what's actually happening is that your muscles are becoming detached from the shin bone.  Uhh, yeah, that doesn't sound too good.

So I talked to a physical therapist friend of mine and she told me all kinds of fun stuff I could do to help with the shin splints.  Like a good little patient I've been following all of her instructions.

I iced
and iced
and iced some more

The worst part was when I took ice cubes and massaged my shins with them trying to break up scar tissue that apparently accumulates when you get shin splints

I also foam rolled my shins until I thought I was going to die - I have a really high pain tolerance and this was pretty intense.

Then before I go to bed I massage my shins with Icy Hot and wrap my legs with ace bandages in such a way the the muscle that has been pulling away from the shin will reattach.

This is actually really nice.  I fall asleep with a nice soothing, cooling feeling in my legs.  What is not so fun is pulling the self adhesive ace bandages off of my legs in the morning.  Now that is all kinds of burning torture but totally my fault for buying the self adhesive bandages in the first place.

With all of the craziness going down I haven't been out running for a whole week.  I'm feeling tons better and tomorrow I'm planning on a nice long run.

In the meantime I've been doing the usual: stadiums and weights.

Stadiums Monday

Stadiums Tuesday

Obviously super thrilled about stadiums two days in a row.  I was in a better mood by the time I got there.

Also really thrilled about my awkward pants.  I just don't understand why they're so much longer in the back...
And why I bought them in the first place

Legs & back - I love stretching, I love stretching... hmm, if I repeat it, will I believe it?  Pretty sure my shin splints are because I got lazy with stretching.

Super creepy shot of pull ups.  For the record, I was trying to smile at the camera.  I promise I'm not possessed by demons.  I hope not anyway ;)

Shoulders, biceps, triceps

The best part about working out at home?

Your work out clothes don't even have to match a little

Someday when I point you'll actually be able to see my guns :)

Have you ever had shin splints?  Have any suggestions how to make them better quickly and how to prevent them in the first place?

I've pretty much decided it's because I haven't been stretching as much and possibly because I ran too far too fast in new shoes but I'll take any tips you have! :)

I need a new running partner

How the heck is it already Thursday?  These weeks are just flying by!

I've been having a really great week, well, mentally anyways.  All the kids I babysit have been so much fun this week and I've been babysitting the perfect amount - not too much, not too little.  Most of my ballet classes have been really well behaved this week.  Crossing my fingers that next week goes just as well as this week because it's Parent Observation Day in class... I'm not a fan, at all.

On top of all that, I'm just so excited to start weight training again and Rachel and I have been able to get out for stadiums twice this week (we haven't gone for awhile now...).  Running?  Eh, not so much.  Mentally, yes.  Physically - oh yeah... I had a cold.

On Tuesday I decided I was going to fit in a 10 miler before work.  I had sort of been struggling with some sort of cold but it was so mild and I was feeling pretty good so I didn't think it would be a problem.

3 miles later I felt like poop so I turned around and struggled the 3 miles back.  Lesson learned: just because you feel "mostly good" does not mean you will be feeling great 6 miles later.

Success!  In my book that means finishing without puking ;)
...which is exactly what I felt like doing

I met some sheep at ballet class today:

Why yes, I do have the best job!

Yesterday was stadiums:

Followed several hours later with an intense (and hot, hence the no shirt thing) chest and back workout.  Can't say I've missed pullups

Ahh, yes, now I know why my chest hurt when I was trying to breathe while running today

And then, my favorite part of this whole story:
Yesterday Rachel begged me to go running with her today.  I don't get this chance very often so even though I had planned to run 10 miles by myself I agreed to go running with her.  I decided that I would run 5 miles with her and then after I dropped her off I would run another 5 by myself.

As I thought about it I actually decided that I was going to be pretty happy with this arrangement - I'd still have gone 10 miles but it would end up being a lot easier than if I ran those miles by myself.

The only downside was that I would have to wake up at O'dark thirty to drive all the way out to her apartment and then of course I would have to drive home too.

Well, I did it.  I woke up at 4:15 so I could have some coffee and *ahem* make sure I had used to bathroom before our run.  Oh, and foam roll.

I left the house at 6, and texted Rachel about 3 times before I started calling her.  I called 5 times and didn't manage to wake her up.  Well, since I was already at her apartment I decided I would just run my 5 miles alone first and then hopefully she would be awake by the time I got back.  I brought my phone with me so i could text/call her along the way.  I'm not sure how many texts I ended up sending, maybe 5?  The last one said "you're dead to me"

I also called another 5 times making that total 10.  I realize I could have just gone the last 5 miles by myself but by that time I was just mad that I had gone all that way for nothing.  She's not on my happy list today.

I just can't believe someone could sleep through that many phone calls.  I'm pretty convinced she just didn't want to pick up the phone and tell me she didn't feel like coming out.

This is my grumpy face at Rachel because she is lame ;)

Ooooon the bright side:  I ran a 7:12 for the first mile.  I can't wait to break 6 miles!

I have the whole day ahead of me and nothing to do.  I have a very good feeling finishing off those last 5 miles will not be part of the plan but lets hope something good comes from this day with nothing to do but sit in bed and watch Veronica Mars on netflix watch instantly.

Down to Business

I had a great week visiting with my grandparents last week and now it's back to the grind.  All I managed last week were a few runs.

I knew the unseasonably cool weather we experienced on Wednesday morning wouldn't last but I wasn't expecting the hot and humid morning I got on Friday

If you can't tell, the only part that is dry is the bottom right of my shirt

Super weird pose, looks like I'm practicing my posing for a figure competition - Nah, I'm just trying to show you how sweaty I got:  This is nothin, it's not even summer yet ;)

Friday night I slept in a compression sleeve for my shin that has been bothering me lately...

... and woke up with some sort of rash all over my leg.  Hard to tell from the picture but it's there.  Yeah, don't think I'll be wearing that sleeve too much anymore.

Saturday I skipped my planned long run and went shopping instead.  I'm saving my loot for another post... mostly because I washed it all and most of the stuff I got is still wet.  Or still in my trunk.

Saturday afternoon I went with my parents and Rachel to an event for Rachel's sorority (I'm an alumnus).  It was super boring because I couldn't eat any of the food.  Thankfully I had stuffed my face before the event so I wasn't really jealous of everyone getting to eat but it ended up making the event seem really pointless.

At least we got a good picture out of it ;)

After the event Rachel and I went running.  Rachel has been running 3 miles a few times a week for several weeks now, a few months actually.  I've been telling her she's strong enough to increase her mileage but for some reason she didn't think she could do it.  On Tuesday we went 4 miles and she did great.  I was so proud of her!  Rachel asked me to run 4 miles with her again on Saturday.

Now... I am not proud of what I'm about to share.  I decided at some point during the day that I was going to run 5 miles and not tell Rachel anything until we finished.  Somewhere between mile 1 and 2 Rachel had to stop because she was feeling really nauseous.  This is where I should have felt super guilty and just ran the planned 2 miles before we turned around.  Did I?  No...

At 2 miles I asked her if she could go another 1/2 mile before the turn around.  She asked "Is that how far we have to go until 2 miles?" and I lied "Yep"

On the way back we had to stop a few times for Rachel to stretch.  She was feeling really sore and her muscles were cramping up.  Oops!  I felt really guilty.  That girl doesn't have any quit in her though.  She ran the last mile or so without stopping and a lot of it was uphill.

As soon as we finished I told her that she had just run 5 miles (the farthest she's ever run!) - she told me she hated me.

I promised never ever to do that to her again and as it turned out she was really happy that she had gone the whole 5 miles.

This week I promised myself that I would focus a little more on weight training.  I've kind of been all about running for the past several weeks and have been seriously slacking on weight training.  I miss it and after a visit with the super fit and muscular "D" on Friday (A woman I babysit for) I was really ready to get back to weightlifting.

I started off the day with stadiums with Rach

Came home, cleaned, washed and folded laundry, cleaned out a whole bunch of clothes that I never wear

And got down to business

I'm so intense my eyes glow red

Oops - you can see I'm only lifting 10s.  One day, just you watch, I'll be lifting a lot more than that.
As a matter of fact, I'm getting sick of P90X.  I like that I can do it at home whenever I want but I'm ready for more.

I'm off to teach dance.  Hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

Week of Lazy

It's only Tuesday and I feel like my whole week is turning into a "lazy" week.

Monday was President's Day - I had a whole day off.  I had zero responsibilities.  So I went on a long run and cleaned my room and finished all the painting that's been left half way done for months, right?  I wish...

I woke up about an hour and a half later than I planned to and missed stadiums.  That pretty much set the tone for the day.  I took a 3 hour nap in the middle of the afternoon, didn't do any P90X, didn't run because I was a little sore from the half marathon on Sunday, didn't teach any dance classes.  So what did I do?  Honestly, I don't even know.  This is why days off are so depressing to me.  The day just seems to fly by and I never have anything to show for myself at the end of the day.  I want a re-do!  I promise I will plan very very well and I will be so on top of things and get so much done... pretty pretty please!

This morning I did wake up in time for stadiums then I spent a few hours with Sophia.

Seriously, cutest girl ever!

I got home early and was excited to get in all of P90X plyo before dance.  I think I did about 20 minutes... and quit.  I planned to finish it when I came home (I also thought I might be able to get a run in... I am seriously delusional).  I never did get any more of plyo done.

Yeah, it's 9PM and I'm considering skipping my walk too and just crashing.  9PM is not bedtime, 9PM is not bedtime.  How many times to I have to repeat this for it to sink in?  If only that worked...

I got an email from MarathonFoto.com telling me that all of my photos from the race on Sunday were up.  This was an unexpected surprise since I was expecting them tomorrow sometime.  I was super pumped.  Then I opened up the link they sent and there was a full page of some random guy!  He finished in 1:22... I wish that was me!  His bib number was 2051, mine was 2049.  I don't know what happened or what the mixup was but I searched through all of the lost and found photos and didn't find any of me.

I finally emailed them letting them know what happened.  Hopefully everything will get sorted out because obviously I am just dying to see all the photos of me cheesing it up for the camera, looking like I was dying (which is my natural state when I'm not aware of the cameras), or the best yet... gagging after I crossed the finish line.  I don't know if they took pictures of that or not but I'm strangely interested to see if there are any.  I can't believe thay would post something like that... but then again, if they have the photos, shouldn't they let me decide if I want them or not?

I have several photos that my parents took during the race but I'm waiting to do a post on the race - I want to include some professional photography as well :).

Tomorrow I don't have any official plans until 5:30:  Keep me accountable!  On the to-do list - get a run in, preferably a long one.  Stadiums because Rach would hurt me if we didn't get three in this week.  Some sort of P90X so I'm not behind 3 by the end of tomorrow.  Clean or at least straighten up my room.  Change sheets... it's been awhile =/.  Wash hair.  It is sad that this has to be put on a to-do list.  I.Will.Be.PRODUCTIVE!

:)

Please tell me how productive YOU have been to guilt me into being productive.  Or you could just tell me about how lazy you have been - misery loves company!

My Day in Pictures

Cause really, who has time to type it all out?

Lets just say, I did not get everything (or even most) of what I planned to get done today done.  Sad.  Tomorrow and Sunday I better kick some butt to make up for my 2 very lazy days.

Started off my morning the way I always start it:  3 cups of coffee.  Okay, I'm exaggerating a little bit.  Usually 2 cups.  It's just so delicious I can't resist.

Slept in make-up from last night.  Also, shirt that I wore last night.  My mom asked this morning "Are those your pajamas?"

My answer?  Mom, the best clothes are the ones that can double as legit clothes that you wear in the daytime and as comfortable pajamas.  I stand by this answer.

But really I'm just too tired (lazy) at night to put on my actual pajamas.

Check out the mess that I sometimes call my bedside table.  This is just out of control.  On my to-do list for today was to clean my room.  Yeah... that didn't happen.  I did clean up my bedside table though.  I guess I should explain, the toilet paper was from when I was sick.  We ran out of tissues.

I started out the day on a good note, things just went down hill after 30 minutes of P90X Back and Biceps

Assisted pull ups - I can actually do a whopping 3 unassisted but these are all assisted

Stopped 30 minutes in to start getting ready to go babysit.

My latest addiction (today's lunch): Acorn squash sliced in half and baked face down for about an hour

Mashed with a splash of almond milk, a pinch of sugar a pinch of salt and a bunch of cinnamon.  Yummy!

Smokey likes it too.  I swear, this cat was a dog in a past life.  He will eat anything.  I thought he was just going to smell it and I caught him right before he tried to take a lick.

He tried so hard to get some.  At this point I was making him do this but he was doing this before I even offered him some.

The only other semi-productive thing that I did...

I know, I look like I'm being super productive.  This was after an hour of playing outside while waiting for the realtor to come over and show the house.  We were tired.

Tomorrow I will get a run in.  This must happen.  No more planning and then not following through.

Workout Wednesday

You know how I usually promise a post later in the day and never follow through?

I like to change things up every now and again ;)

So far this week has been so great.  It's amazing how a week of feeling yuck makes you appreciate the normal when it returns.  I am so thankful for my health and that I am usually very healthy.  I have really enjoyed MOVING again this week.  With the massive amounts of rain we had last week and my cold I basically just sat in bed all day for multiple days in a row.  This is so not me - I enjoyed it for about a day and then I was itching to get out and run again.

First thing Monday morning I got out for a 3 mile run.  Not much of a run but all I could fit in before work.  It's a good thing I fit it in early too because after that the rainpocolypse started.  Sadly I cannot take credit for coining this word.  My amazing and wonderful friend Kelly came up with it:

Rainpocalypse: Noun. Weather event created by conditions similar to those that cause a snowpocalypse, but the precipitation has not quite reached freezing point. Characterized by massive flooding, copious car accidents, and a common belief that the sun no longer exists.

After dance on Monday I came home and did P90X Legs & Back.  Love working legs... always get sore
The entire backside of my legs (and mostly my butt) are still sore from this Monday workout.  Don't know why, I only missed a week...

On Tuesday the rain finally cleared up and we had the first clear and sunny day in what feels like forever.  It was so gorgeous outside!  Cool, clear and sunny.  Unfortunately I had a crazy day and couldn't get in a run.  I'm not supposed to run on Tuesdays anyways but I would have gone just so I could get some of that awesome weather.  I did do stadiums in the morning though but at that point it was still fairly overcast.

After teaching dance Tuesday afternoon I came home and did P90X Plyo.  This is really quite a feat for me.  I always plan to workout after dance and then get home and decide that I'll catch up on another day and then by the end of the week I always have "catch up" workouts that never end up getting done.  Not only did I get a workout in, I got Plyo in.  I love plyo but doing it week after week after week... it's not exactly something I look forward to.

Pretty sure this was after plyo... I don't look sweaty at all.  I ALWAYS get sweaty during plyo.  This can only mean one thing - I took a lot of breaks.  I did, I'm not going to lie.  Mentally I wasn't all in for this workout... this is what happens when I workout in th evening

This morning I woke up early to run stadiums.  I scraped ice off of my windshield with a cd.  RIP Christie Dupree EP.  I promise when your real CD comes out I will buy it to replace the one I used to clean the windshield.  Actually, I'm pretty sure it still works fine but I felt a little guilty.  The CD had been home burned and the name was written with permanent marker.  I doubt anyone who reads my blog knows who Eisley is but if you do... Christie Dupree is their younger sister and she has an incredible voice.

This is my "It's 32 degrees out" face
Also: different gloves than Tuesday
On Tuesday I had a glove casualty.  I stopped in at the bathroom at the stadium and accidently dropped a glove in the toilet.  After toilet fishing I soaked the glove in globs of soap, drowned it in water and then wrapped it up in about 5 feet of paper towels.  I brought it with me and left it under some of the bleachers, expecting to pick it up on my way out.  Sadly, when I finished, the big wad of paper towels was nowhere to be found.  After about 5 minutes of looking all over I finally decided someone had come along and thought it was just trash and threw it away.  Thankfully this story has a happy ending - I found it right on top in the first trash can I looked in.  Toilet fishing and garbage fishing all in the same day... I have no words.

It was so gorgeous out today that I made my planned short run into a long run.  I did 10 easy miles today.  What a glorious way to enjoy a beautiful day!

Post run:  I don't know what my problem was today but I could not get this picture right.  Trust me when I say this is the best one.  The other attempts were headless of only half of my body.  You would think I've never done this before or something...

I don't know if you can tell from this picture (I see it but maybe it's just me?)
Check out my right knee (left in this picture)
See the awkward tan line from my brace?  Oops...

Check it out up close:

At first I didn't mind but now it's really getting obvious... and it's basically shorts season right now.  It was in the 70s today.  Can you belive it?  Florida is crazy - 32 degrees in the morning and 3 hours later it's 66.  What the heck, Florida?

When I came home from teaching dance today I finished up my crazy day with some time in pushup land.  My favorite :).  I'm just lying, I really don't love it.  I like pushups but not that many...
P90X Chest, Shoulders and Triceps.  I really just wanted to even out the soreness, can't wait til tomorrow =/

And that's it, all caught up.  Check out the gorgeous day we had today!  My camera is not good quality at all so it doesn't do the beautiful day justice at all... but it's all I've got :)
